Soothe Menopause Symptoms Naturally With This Bath Salt Recipe

Let’s be honest — the menopause journey isn’t all herbal tea and affirmations. Between hot flushes, mood swings and the joy of night sweats, things can get a little intense. While HRT is an option for many, some women are looking for natural ways to support their bodies — and that’s where essential oils come in.

This bath salt blend is my personal go-to. It’s soothing, smells divine, and gives your hormones (and your nerves!) a gentle helping hand.


Why Essential Oils Can Help With Menopause

Essential oils have been used for centuries to support hormone balance, reduce anxiety, improve sleep, and even cool the body.

Here are a few stars of the show in this recipe:

  • Clary Sage: Believed to balance oestrogen levels and calm mood swings

  • Geranium: Helps regulate hormones and uplift your mood

  • Lavender: Calming, comforting, and great for sleep

  • Lemon or Ho Wood: Invigorating and emotionally balancing

Together, they create a truly soothing bath blend to ease the tension of fluctuating hormones and leave your skin feeling glorious.


Natural Menopause Bath Salt Recipe

This is the exact blend I use when I need a little sanctuary-in-a-tub moment. You can pop it straight into the bath, or spoon it into biodegradable tea bags (available here) to avoid flower petal chaos in your drain!

🌿 Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Epsom salts

  • 1 cup Dead Sea salts

  • 2 tbsp fractionated coconut oil (liquid form)

  • 4 drops geranium essential oil

  • 3 drops clary sage (or sage) essential oil

  • 3 drops lavender essential oil

  • 2 drops lemon or Ho wood essential oil

  • 2 tbsp dried lavender or rose buds (optional)

🛁 Method:

  1. In a bowl, mix all ingredients until thoroughly combined.

  2. Decant into biodegradable bath tea bags or a sealed container.

  3. Store unused bath salts in an airtight jar to preserve the aroma.

Run your bath, drop in your tea bag or a scoop of the salts, slide in, and breathe. Deeply. And maybe hide from your family for 20 minutes.


Why It Works

  • Epsom salts help soothe muscles and boost magnesium levels (which many of us are low in)

  • Dead Sea salts are rich in minerals that support skin health and circulation

  • Coconut oil adds a softening, nourishing touch without leaving the bath dangerously slippery

  • Essential oils work their mood-balancing magic through both inhalation and absorption

The result? Calm mind, softer skin, and a little pocket of peace just for you.
