Menopause Bath Salts
Those of us going through the menopause know it really isn't much fun at times! Hot flushes, night sweats and mood swings are all caused by fluctuating hormone levels in our bodies. However, if you're looking for an alternative to HRT then essential oils can reap big benefits! Oils like clary sage, geranium, lemon and Ho wood can help to balance your hormone levels and get your life back on track. And what better way to enjoy them than soaking in lovely hot bath that not only smells amazing but is doing your body good too!
I love this recipe, not only because it helps me to remain sane but also because my skin feels great afterwards too! I make a batch and decant it into biodegradable tea bags, available HERE so that my drain doesn't get clogged with the dried flower heads. If you would prefer just to pop some in the bath though I would leave the flower heads out.
Ingredients:
1 cup Epsom Salts
1 Cup Dead Sea Salts
2 tablespoons liquid coconut oil (also known as fractionated)
4 drops geranium essential oil
3 drops of clary sage essential oil (you can substitute for sage)
3 drops lavender essential oil
2 drops lemon or Ho wood essential oil
2 tablespoons of lavender or rose buds (optional)
Method:
Mix everything together in a bowl until well combined. Decant into tea bags or a sealed container. If using tea bags make sure to keep the ones you're not using in a sealed container as well.
Run under warm water, lie back, inhale and enjoy!! I truly hope this brings you some relief!
Love,
