The PUREMESS philosophy is simple: to encourage as many people as possible to adopt a more natural, simplified life. Your skin is precious and a great place to start.
How it started
PUREMESS came about after a second breast cancer diagnosis in 2015. I have always had a healthy approach to life, eating well and exercising, and thought I used what I considered to be natural products.
However, with a busy lifestyle and a family to look after I had never really taken the time to research what was actually in those products. Using my science background I decided to start formulating and making my own products, using only the finest natural ingredients I could find. And that’s how it started!
Only the best natural ingredients find their way into the products, avoiding chemical nasties including sulphates (SLS, SLES), petrochemicals, parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, palm oil, synthetic or artificial fragrances.
All of the products, excluding those that contain beeswax, are suitable for vegans. We select our ingredients from those companies that don’t test on animals as we would never test our products on them either.
Our ‘Beautiful You’ Care Packages are an integral part of the business as the products have been carefully chosen to provide a luxurious pampering experience for anyone who is going through illness or recovery.
We donate a percentage of the profit from each care package to The Teenage Cancer Trust through Work For Good.
Since starting the business I have had a third diagnosis. I am extremely proud to have been awarded Winner of the MPower Mums in Business Award 2018 in the Courage category and a Finalist in the Inspiration Category in 2019. I was also a finalist in the Eagle Radio Biz Awards - Entrepreneur of the Year category in 2019.
I have also been featured in several national newspapers and magazines for a mastectomy photo shoot I did in order to empower women to feel Happy in their Own Skin!
We want to leave a healthier planet behind so it is really important to us to only use refillable, reusable, recyclable or biodegradable packaging and strive to keep up to date with the least damaging methods of manufacture.
All the products are assessed by an external chemist and registered on the Cosmetic Product Notification Portal, a European legal requirement.
If you are pregnant or have a medical condition please consult with your doctor before using products containing essential oils.
